You will have to give us more information than that.

What version of GNU make are you using?
What platform are you running it on?
Does the problem happen even if you just use "make --version" or
similar, or does it only happen for a specific makefile?
Does it print anything else besides this error?

This doesn't look like a UNIX error, so I'm guessing Windows.  In that
case, please specify how you built make (what shell are you using, etc.)
Also you might try asking on the address@hidden mailing list, which
has more folks knowledgeable about Windows reading it.
