FontForge kept crashing (SEGV) when I tried to work out a recipe.
I've recently recompiled it w/ less optimization and that seems to
avoid the crashes.

Which shows that this'll need more though.
Yeah, that does seem intimidating. I have installed debian's fontforge
package (version 0.0.20100501-5) -- hopefully it is sufficient for this.

OK, i'll keep those in mind.
It seems it is not as trivial as I recalled.
If i stumble upon something i'll follow up here.
