Because you have it misconfigured.  Please check the archives of this
list at ftp://ftp-mailing-list-archives.gnu.org or
http://www.egroups.com for the solutions for this common problem.

Ouups... My cheeks are blushing! I thought I had searched a bit, but I hadn't, sorry

Anyway the -f fixed it good! Maybe that little sequence should be mentioned
where the configuration of inetd is taken care of?
