login failure on WindowsNT

Hi,
I am using the command line (DOS) cvs client version 1.10.5 on WindowsNT
to connect to a cvs server on a Sun Solaris machine.The server has been
recompiled to listen on port 2404. (There are 3 other cvs servers on the
same machine listening on ports 2401 to 2403).
I have (correctly I believe) set the environment variables CVSROOT and
CVS_CLIENT_PORT on my Windows machine.
When I say 'cvs login' I get the following result:
C:\>cvs login
(Logging in to address@hidden)
CVS password:
cvs [login aborted]: authorization failed: server ursa rejected access
I get the same message if I try the same thing from a linux machine, but
from another Sun Solaris machine the login succeeds.
>From my windows machine cvs login succeeds if I try the cvs server that is
listening on port 2401.
Can someone point me in the direction of a solution ?
