FYI. The FreeBSD variant of cvs 1.11 does allow verifymsg to modify
the log message. It is a very useful feature that I would like to see
rolled back into the cvshome.org version of cvs. The source patches
are easy to provide, but I am not sure if the sanity.sh checks of the
feature exist.

PS: You may checkout your own copy of the FreeBSD CVS sources using the
commands:
cvs -d :pserver:address@hidden:/home/ncvs login
CVS password: anoncvs
cvs -d :pserver:address@hidden:/home/ncvs co contrib_cvs
or just browse through the web via
http://www.FreeBSD.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/src/contrib/cvs/
to take a look at the sources. The current top of tree incorporates
all of the changes for cvs 1.11.
