CVS import failed

When trying to import a single directory along with its file contents (html, gifs, etc.) I receive the following error message.

No space left on device

It is only this one directory. I am able to import other directories, its just this one giving me trouble. And I know there is plenty of space left. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks.
