The manual states it accepts dates in ISO 8601 format
(http://www.iso.ch/markete/8601.pdf).
In truth, it appears to support a subset of these formats.
I've sucessfully used:
[Ddd] Mon dd [hh[:mm[:ss]]] yyyy [TZ]
yyyy-mm-dd [hh[:mm[:ss]]]
yyyy[mm[dd[Thh[:mm[:ss]]]]
(where [] denotes an optional element) with cvs 1.11.
There are *tons* more. I've discovered these mostly by trial and error.
What specifically are you looking for?
