Hi,

I love CVS. I've always loved it ever since I was with Thinking Machines
back in the day, I've loved this system.

Let me say, how much I hate WinCVS, Samba, and the permissions issue. I
now know why the previous company invested10K into VSS & perforce.

here's the setup.

Repository under unix
Served to wincvs under samba.

Adding works fine, it's just commiting that doesn't work. We get a
message from WinCVS saying 'cannot rename file ',<file,v>' to <file,v>.

The permission settings in Samba appear to be correct. Every user can
read, modify, write and even erase the entire damn repository through
samba, but yet WinCVS can muster this simple check in.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

-Phil
