I am trying to connect to an existing CVS repository on a UNIX box using
a WinCVS client loaded on an NT workstation.
I should have all the appropriate DLL files and Tcl/Tk 8.3.3. So far, I
have:
* entered the root location of the browser to the folder in which I
installed WinCVS,
* entered the appropriate CVSROOT destination,
* set authentication to the "passwd" file on the cvs server (since I was
given a user account and password),
* left the default preferences for globals, port, proxy, and WinCVS
When I first launch WinCVS, the following appears in the lower WinCVS
window frame:
CVSROOT: :pserver:address@hidden:/home/cvs/src/master
(password authentication)
TCL is *not* available, shell is disabled
After attempting to login (selecting Admin > Login), the Browse for
Folder dialog box appears with file trees highlighting the folder in
which I installed WinCVS. After clicking Cancel on four identical Browse
for Folder dialog boxes, the following appears:
*****CVS exited normally with code 1*****
As a WinCVS newbie, I'm not sure where the problem is. I know the
repository functions so I assume either the installation, configuration,
or other preferences are inaccurate. I have not been able to isolate the
problem.
Can someone help?
