Using Modules with CVS

Dear ...,

It appears that cvs commit does not work with modules.
Is there any intention to make it work?  

I created alias modules which I used to 
checkout files, but when I attempted commit it
said it didn't know about the module.

This would be a great feature.  We are currently using 
version 1.11 on Sun Solaris (2.6, 2.7 & 2.8).
