import and create a working copy at the same time in CVS

I have a directory with ~500 Mb of data, and i want to import it to the
repository. Because of the amount of data in the directory, the import
process take a lot of time. Then, when the import is end, we need to create
a working copy of the imported directory in the same location where the
original directory was.
Is there any way to do the import and the working copy at the same time,
without waiting so long time to do both things?
