No, and I don't think their should be a way either; checking-out and
especially importing are things that happen (very) infrequently.

Or is this a nightly vendor import or so ? Firstly, if at all possible,
persuade the vendor to open up a public cvs repository so you can do a
nightly cvs update into your working copy.

If you can't do that, do the import behind the scenes, then do a cvs update on
the vendor branch; don't csv checkout. 

Or did I miss something?
