We use CVS from the
1. command line on the node where CVS resides
2. across the network with pserver (WinCVS).
There's one person here who is logged in on winCVS as himself
(:pserver:address@hidden:/export/cvsroot) and is using "passwd" file on the
cvs server.
When he checks in though, the email I am sent is from "CVS Admin", the uid
is cvsuser and gid is cvsgrp. Why are his files not checking in as himself?
How tightly bound are the cvsuser generic account with cvs admin? How can I
get "actual" names to be attached when checking in? If 'cvsuser' checks a
file in, there's no way to determine who to talk to if there's a conflict
upon checkin.
The only time CVS admin has mailed me before is when I have checked in cvs
administrative files.
The passwd file has (I removed the encrypted passwords with regular text
though)
anonymous:!:
cvsadmin:pass1:
jschwenk:pass2:cvsadmin
engineer1:pass2:cvsuser
engineer2:pass2:cvsuser
engineer3:pass2:cvsuser
engineer4:pass2:cvsuser
engineer5:pass2:cvsuser
generic:pass2:cvsuser
engineer6:pass2:cvsuser
This person is in the writers file.
What's wrong?
Thanks in advance.
