Hi,

I'm new to the list, so sorry if this is a FAQ.

We have a small cvs repository that is used by 5-6 people. Everything
was okay, but I get strange error messages since last friday:

cvs update: file.cpp: 1.2 and working file are different file types
cvs update: file.cpp: hard linkage of 1.2 and working file do not match
M file.cpp
[many more identical messages skipped]

There are some more files that don't go in, I've been working with
these files since weeks (always successfully committed after changes)
and I'm the only one that works with the files in this directory.

Why do those messages appear now? How can I get rid of them? I've done
no conversions (CR/LF -> LF or else) to the files since my last successful
commit, so I'm a bit puzzled.

cvs diff shows no special chars, it displays only my latest changes.

BTW: if I do a cvs commit on those files, cvs core dumps.

Markus
