hi there,
i am kind of new to cvs. wondering if you guys can help me out.
i would like to do a cvs diff on files that are within a branch.
Let's say i have a branch with the revision tag version1-0. If i
want to do a cvs diff of the files - today vs. a week ago, what
should i do?
When i do a cvs checkout -r version1-0 ... i assume that it pulls the
latest versions of the files that are checked into the branch (ie.
not the versions of the files when i first branched it). Am i right?
So i am thinking maybe i can use: cvs diff -r version1-0 -D (the
date i branched version1-0)?
Will this give me the difference between the current versions of the
files within the version1-0 branch vs. the versions of the files when
i originally created the branch?
What is the recommended approach?
thanks,
Peter
