It shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to install it from source,
much less if you download a binary. Deciding how you want to configure
it can take a lifetime, but it's perfectly usable out-of-the-box, so you
can defer that until you understand it a bit more. I suggest you take a
look at the installation instructions:
