wincvs not checking out repository files

[Sri Sri]

A new module A has been created and a new user, John,
has been added to the system.  John is not able to
access the repository files (CVS folder) on checking
out module A.  Could you please tell me why this would
happen?

John can access the rest of the project without any
problem.  So there is no problem with his login or
preferences setup. 


We are using Wincvs 1.2
