I am a CVS newbie, so I am a little confused about how to reconcile the
comments in this thread with the following from the WinCVS 1.3 manual -
Section 1 - Introduction:

"The unofficial patch called Main Branch Import has been applied to both CVS
and WinCvs to allow importing files directly to the trunk instead of a
vendor branch. The patch can be found at
www.cvshome.org/cyclic/cvs-html/dev-trunk-import.txt. The result of this
patch is that revision numbers for imported files start with 1.1 instead of
1.1.1.1 which is the normal CVS behaviour."

Does this patch not work with the current release of CVS?
