I was thinking about this a bit more and came to the
conclusion that a mapping wouldn't break RCS
compatibility since RCS would still be able to read
the files.  Of course, one would have to handle the
mapping oneself, but this is similar to when CVS added
client/server to its list of features, RCS users would
have had to handle the communication themselves.
