Funny, academically, I like C++'s feature set. And
when used properly, you get extremely powerful idioms.
I think one of the problems is that, even after over
10 years, C++ usage is still maturing and evolving.

I wouldn't necessarily say this. C++ can do things
that C can't (eg generic programming).

There's also long-term costs to consider (eg supply
and demand for maintainers). It's extremely risky to
use a language that's not as popular, but
technologically more suited.

Like I alluded to before, this'll come when most C++
programmers are accustomed to reading the various
paradigms afforded by the language.
