Breaking an edit?

Hi

Is there a way to unedit a file on behalf of some other user?

We're using edit as soft locks on our binary files and as with any lock people 
tend to leave them dangling :-(

So far I've edited the fileattr file in the repository to unedit a file, but 
its a hazzle, so if there's an easy way around I'd like hear about it.
