This patch is part of the same project (RCVS) as the
"advisory lock" patch. You can find it at

This will work so long as absolutely noone else is
modifying the file (including through "cvs edit", "cvs
unedit", and "cvs watch" commands). It's very kludgy.
I would suggest installing the patch.
