Ive got a CVS 1.11.1p1 Server on Linux
With empty CVSROOT/passwd file.
WinCVS clients log in with no problems.
Solaris 2.8 client (1.11) logs in no problem
Eg. --------------------------------------
sun1$ echo $CVSROOT
:pserver:address@hidden:/usr/local/cvsroot
sun1$ cvs login
(Logging in to address@hidden)
CVS password:
sun1$ cvs version
Client: Concurrent Versions System (CVS) 1.11 (client/server)
Server: Concurrent Versions System (CVS) 1.11.1p1 (client/server)
-----------------------------------------
The HP-UX client is not playing ball at all.
Eg
-----------------------------------------
hpux1$ echo $CVSROOT
:pserver:address@hidden:/usr/local/cvsroot
hpux1$ cvs login
(Logging in to address@hidden)
CVS password:
cvs login: authorization failed: server linux1 rejected access to
/usr/local/cvsroot for user alord
hpux1$ cvs -version
Concurrent Versions System (CVS) 1.11 (client/server)
-----------------------------------------
The follwing error appears in /var/log/secure on the server
-----------------------------------------
May 24 12:12:43 linux1 cvs: login failure by alord / p"address@hidden (for
/usr/local/cvsroot)
-----------------------------------------
Which also appears when I deliberately type the wrong password from a client
that works.
Any ideas?
