Only that there's no locking, so if anyone does anything that's recorded
in the history file while you're editing it, it will get lost when you
save your edited version.

That's fine.

If you did any experimenting in an existing directory (and it sounds
like you did, or you wouldn't be talking about editing the Entries
file), you may find CVS/fileattr files in the repository directory that
need to be deleted or edited.
