Thanks for the reply, Larry.  Yes, anonymous is in both CVS's and the
system's passwd file.

This is so puzzling because no configs were changed in the upgrade
(via RPM).

|so it won't let you in.  Is "anonymous" in your CVS/passwd file?  Is it
