I'm using a pserver to access the dbase and we're using Solaris 5.8 as our OS with NFS files system.  I found a work around for this problem, but have no idea why it ocurred in the first place.  The file that I metioned had an incomplete entry in the last line, so I deleted that entry.  A normal file entry looks like this:

Fdk14.v _editors=wtempero>Thu Feb 20 23:34:47 2003 GMT+galant+/proj/users/wtempero/fe_nc/test/STIMULUS;_watchers=wtempero>tedit+tunedit+tcommit

While the incomplete entry looked like this:

Fdk

That's it, it was truncated for whatever reason and that whole directory was inaccessible to anyone using the dbase.

That indicates that there is something wrong with the format of the
mentioned file. Can you post the contents? Are you using some kind of
network filesystem to access your repository?
