You don't need to get Veritas to do it, you should just have your backup
script do it before running the backup and then unlock it afterwards.

Then you likely have a serious hardware problem.  Exactly what kind of
corruption did you have: truncated files, blocks of binary zeros in the
middle of the files, blocks of random garbage in the middle of the
files, single scrambled characters, etc.?
