He was trying to create a module (using the modules file) with that
name.  The corresponding path in the repository would be

To the original poster:  How did you create the modules file?  You need
to check out the CVSROOT directory (or at least the modules file), edit
it, and commit the changes.  It looks like you may not have done that
final step.  When you do, you should get a message along the lines of
"Rebuilding administrative file database"; if you don't, that's a
problem, too.  The usual cause is using backslashes when doing the
original checkout rather than forward slashes.
