Hello,
I have some old project files in a repository
that I don't want to get rid of, but would
instead like to rename ***_OLD so that user don't
mistakenly use them. (They might, however, need
to purposely use them if they need a piece of
very old code)
I've seen references to renaming directories,
etc, and have read that it is a bit of a pain,
since cvs uses those directories to keep tract of
the files.
Wondering if the same holds true for the project
dir though? Can a person just go into the
repository and rename it?
I tested it (co), and everything seemed to work
fine.
Then, just for interests sake, I went into the
repository and into a project file and renamed a
directory. Did a checkout and that worked also.
So, now I'm not sure if any of this is dangerous
at all - or did I just get lucky?
