CVS memory error

I am attempting to update a directory which contains a very large file
(104MB), and I get the following error:
1007>cvs upd -d
cvs update: Updating .
cvs [update aborted]:
Could not map memory to RCS archive
/avcatt/SAF/cvsroot/AVCSAF/terrain/P2.c7l,v:
Cannot allocate memory
Is there any workaround for this?
