Well, my problem with rinfo is: I'm no C programmer. I'd have to learn C
first before being able to add things properly. Although I'd really love to
learn C, I don't have the time for that right now.

I already wrote a RCS file parser in Perl (which is badly coded because I'm
no Perl programmer, too, but at least I know how it works and how I can
modify it). There already was such a thing for perl, but for some reason I
felt not comfortable with it.

All my parser does so far, is, well, parse the file and throw an error if
there's a syntax error in it. I don't even have an internal represation of
the file's data right now. I kind of paused development because Mike Castle
told me twice not to modify old revisions and I wonder if I should proceed in
this direction, or do the new branch solution or just leave everything as is.

So, comments on the branch idea described in my prior mail is welcome!

Andreas Klauer
