cvsignore

 Hello,
          Can somebody tell me how to setup cvsignore  for the entire
 repository.

 I added the attached file to the repository/CVSROOT folder, but it dint
 work. i.e I created a test.class and tried to add *.*  to repository, CVS
should ignore that file.. but it dint
