This error indicates a problem in the rename_file() function to move the
temporary copy of CVS/Entries.Backup into the CVS/Entries official
location. This is possibly related to the permissions of the CVS directory
in your checked out tree.

The rename error is not the same as the corruption of the CVS/Entries
file you are experiencing.

Upgrading to the latest cvs stable release from 1.11.11 should be safe
and is in fact recommended, but will probably not directly address your
current problem.

        Good luck,
