Aren't the "server" and "desktop" versions of a Linux distribution only
different in the apps that are installed? The underlying kernel is exactly
the same. So you can just install a "desktop" version of linux on your
server and then install the "server" apps, like cvs, that you want to use.

Hi all,

I'm going to install CVS on Linux. Do I have to buy a "server version" of
Linux or can I just use a cheap/free workstation version? Any comments would
be greatly appreciated! Thanks,
