Yeah had already seen that... although I understand in concept, I'm having trouble transferring that to 'real life'.... Maybe this week I'm operating in dummy mode ;-) I need more sleep I'm also hoping that I can resolve this sort of problem with the GUI (Tortoise) especially since it's our usual way of accessing CVS and I may only use the command-line once every few monthsFlossie wrote:ok, I need to better understand more about 'sticky tags'. I'm trying to be a dumb user here.Do you know of a good web page along the lines of "CVS for dummies"?Hmmm... I'm sure I've seen links posted in this mail list many times, but I haven't really paid attention. I'll have to start paying attention and scoop them up for future reference. Have you tried this section in the manual: http://www.cvshome.org/docs/manual/cvs-1.11.15/cvs_4.html#SEC53 I _think_ it's fairly clear - if it doesn't help, please feel free to ask again.
I'm using TortoiseCVS and did not see what command it issued (nor do I want to learn various command-line args for controlling CVS actions) -I understand that feeling ;=) I haven't used TortoiseCVS - you might also try asking this question on a mail list geared more towards Tortoise.
Haven't spotted such a NG yet :)
