I am always mystified why people would want to do this in the first place.
Using IP addresses instead of names ties your hands in so many ways - you
cannot (easily) change your IP management scheme, you cannot (easily)
migrate from one server to another, and so on. Am I missing something?
In any case, can you be more specific? Exactly how did you try to connect?
Please define "doesn't work" - what exact error messages did you get?
