cvs export: (no files)

Hi
I have tagged the project with tag 20041213
But in export it show
>cvs export -r 20041213
>cvs export: Updating deploy
But no files are exported!
But a non exist tag will show error
>cvs export -r abc deploy
>cvs [export aborted]: no such tag abc
This kind of things are always happening on our server.
so what is happening ?
