I vote for checking out brand new sandboxes off to the side,
copying the latest files you have from your old sandboxes, and
committing the lot.  You lose the history between the crash and
today, but that's what crashes do to you.

If all developers do that independently, the first one to finish
gets in and the others have to deal with amusing conflicts.
So deal with them.

I really think this is the path of least resistance.
