Not all modules are checked out

I have I problem when trying to checkout all modules of a repository:
I have access to an repository called repos. There are three modules 
called proj1 proj2 proj3.
After the checkout with
> cvs checkout repos
only proj1 proj2 are in my working copy.
When I checkout proj3 seperately by
> cd repos
> cvs checkout proj3
the module is checked out successfully.
Does anybody know the reason for this strange behavior?
By the way: All modules where created with
> mkdir projx
> cvs add projx
