Actually, Stephen, the fact is spaces _are_ a problem in today's
computing environments.  Stating that developers/users _should_ not
have to deal with the problem, while valid, does not change the way
current systems are designed.  If you want, you can change the current
app's to handle spaces or educate people about the problems with the
system to allow.
