RE: Testimonies

Configuration Management typically referred to as CRM for Configuration
and Release Management. I think Linux is pretty high profile and then
there are approximately 100,000 (count 'em) project on SourceForge that
all use CVS. I think it's safe to say it's the #1 VCS in the world. The
list of who doesn't use it would include a lot of Microsoft shops using
VSS. Oracle and IBM have their own VCS products but probably use CVS a
lot. Consider that Eclipse has build-in support for CVS as does JBuilder
and NetBeans and others. JBoss and other appservers use CVS. That's not
coincidental.

Fact is, CVS is so ubiquitous that somebody with some bank out to fund a
major overhaul. BTW, Subversion adds a few features but some of them
have bugs that have been open since '02 (e.g., rename directory) and
they don't support the connectivity options of CVS, to name a few things
wrong with it. We really need a CVS extension.

What is "cm"?

By the way, I don't know the names of any high profile users of cvs.

Does anyone know if a list of companies using CVS for cm exists?

Even if I could have the name of a couple it would be really helpful.

Thanks
