Rod,

Information about pending removals (or modifications, for that matter) is not stored in the repository. It is stored in the CVS/Entries file in your sandbox directory. If you completely removed your sandbox then there is no leftover indication that the file is scheduled for removal. You can verify this by using 'cvs status file'. It should report 'Up-to-date' for the file.

I'd just do a 'cvs add file' to restore the removed file.
