CVSROOT

Hi Guys,

I am trying to run some winCVS commands from my machine, i.e. diffs on
files etc, but when I do I get the following error:

cvs diff: warning: unrecognized response `'"ssh"' is not recognized as
an internal or external command,
' from cvs server
cvs diff: warning: unrecognized response `operable program or batch
file.
' from cvs server
cvs [diff aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if
any)

I know why this is, its because no CVSROOT is used, as when you use a
CVS ssh it does not automatically load the .profile, therefore does not
load the enviroment variables, normally you can specify -d and the
CVSROOT locally to pass through to the server with commands such as
login, or checkout, but with graph and diff you don't seem to be able
to do this! Can someone tell me if I can specify it locally somewere
for all commands to use?

I am also having a problem when creating a tag in winCVS that does not
exist in smartCVS, when I try to create a tag by module, its not
showing existing CVS tags that I created using smartCVS and also when I
enter a tag to use it just hangs there with the fish swimming! Any
ideas y?

Thanks guys

S.
