Can't commit - lock problems

Hello all,

Upon attempting a commit, I have found that all but three files committed.
If I attempt another commit, the following error results:

cvs server: cannot lock
`/var/lib/cvs/stsgui/FileLoggerDll/Attic/FileLoggerDLL.vcproj,v'.
cvs server: cannot lock `/var/lib/cvs/stsgui/camera/Attic/camera.vcproj,v'.
cvs server: cannot lock
`/var/lib/cvs/stsgui/psrsdrawingdll/Attic/psrsdrawingdll.vcproj,v'.

Previosuly, we had a problem that manifested as a lock problem, but it
turned out the real underlying problem was that we had run out of disk
space. This time around, that doesn't seem to be the problem.

Upon logging into our server and navigating to the proper directory, I don't
see anything that looks like a lock file. I also don't see anything that
looks like a lock file on the client side.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on here?
