I get the same message as I did with cvs add.

Thanks!

Try "cvs import" command instead of "cvs add"

I had  "export CVSROOT=/usr/local/cvsroot" in user's .bashrc file.

I also gave the read/write permission on this directory and sub directory.

The thing that I am confused is that: how does the client connect to the server locally?

This version 1.11.18 is client/server, does this mean that I have to use

Pserver , login ...? Thanks!

How is your CVSROOT setup?

Subject: Help Need for Setting Up CVS- v.1.11.18

Hello,

I am a developer and trying to set up a local access CVS on a Redhat WS box.

Since we only have 3 developers, so I wanted to set up something simple.

I have installed cvs-1.11.18-cvshome.org.9x.1, created a cvsuser group, and

Set up env for CVSROOT.

I have a project that has been developed in my home directory. Now I want to

add the project into the repository and start importing files.

When I tried to do "cvs add mydir -m "my message", I got the following:

usr: host unknown

Trying krb4 rsh...

usr: host unknown

trying normal rsh (/usr/bin/rsh)

usr: Unknown host

cvs [add aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if any)

Could anyone give me a hand and tell me what is missing?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Jiya
