Re: Export files by specific revision number

Hello,

I ask myself if the CVS developers would accept a patch which add
another option to "cvs export" to be allowed to specify a specific
revision number with -r (instead of a tag, which is required now for
"cvs export")?

BTW: Even cvs -H export does not mention that -r must be given a
symbolic tag. Event this command mentions tag or revision.


Furthermore, I just wanted to check out the latest cvs repository of the
cvs files according to https://savannah.nongnu.org/cvs/?group=cvs, but I
always get an error message:

address@hidden:~/cvs-source$ cvs -z3 -d:ext:address@hidden:/cvsroot/cvs co ccvs
Permission denied (publickey,keyboard-interactive).
cvs [checkout aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if any)
address@hidden:~/cvs-source$

It seems anoncvs is not allowed to log in as anoncvs (because "password"
is not allowed as access method). Is this intentionally? This is
contrary to the description at the above webpage!

How can I get a current CVS tree to be able to build a clean patch?
