In general, you don't want to. Disk space is very cheap these days, so
there is usually no necessity to physically remove files from the
repository.

Keep in mind that if you physically remove the files from your
repository, you will *not* be able to re-create any versions of your
project that require those files.

If you still feel it is necessary to remove the files, then back up the
,v file to a medium that is marked "Keep forever" and simply delete the
file from the repository.
