Should have said that I tried the obvious. Doing cvs login didn't work
and neither did removing the .cvspass file (and re-doing cvs login).

We may have come up with a possible reason however, maybe someone could
confirm it one way or the other. David's windows username is DavidB
(Note the case of the first and last letters) whereas he had entered
his username in the netbeans CVS configuration as davidb. I am thinking
now that cvs was recognising that files had been checked out or updated
etc as davidb then this different user DavidB came along and tried to
tag them.
