checkoutlist in non-CVSROOT directory

Hi all,

I would like to have a 'bin' module in a CVS repository.  Easy enough.

But I would like the actual repository directory to have the files
checked out, in the way files are checked out in $CVSROOT/CVSROOT
using the checkoutlist file.

Is this possible?

PS, this is under Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.6, with cvs version
"1.11.2-28".  I assume this means that all 1.11.* security fixes have
been applied by RH, but no new features beyond 1.11.2 are included.
