cvs history command help

Hi folks,

I am trying to find out the cvs history commands for the following


(a) finding all checkouts from a particular date
(b) finding all checkouts for a particular file.

I tried cvs history -o -a -f <file name>
         cvs history -o  -D <date in dd-mm-yyyy format>

I am not sure that I am getting the correct output.
